Daisuke obtained his medical degree from Fukui University in Japan and underwent initial training at the Japanese Red Cross Medical Center in Tokyo. He then completed radiology training at both the Japanese Red Cross Medical Center and St. Luke’s International Hospital. In 2023, he finished his PhD in medical science program at Jikei University School of Medicine. His main research themes are imaging diagnostics for thoracic diseases, such as lung cancer and interstitial pneumonia. In 2024, he was awarded a Research Abroad Fellowship by the Astellas Foundation for Research on Metabolic Disorders and is currently working at the Centre for Medical Image Computing at University College London, focusing on CT imaging for thoracic diseases. He has co-authored over 15 papers and over 50 books on imaging diagnostics. He has received several awards both domestically and internationally. In 2020, he was awarded the Magna cum laude from the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA). He is a Japanese radiologist who aspires to contribute to the advancement of thoracic imaging diagnostics worldwide.
