Shahab is a Senior Research Fellow at University College London in the Center for Medical Image Computing, working with Doctor Joseph Jacob on early lung disease prediction. Before joining UCL, he was a visiting researcher at the MIA Research group in the CS department of Simon Fraser University, working with Professor Ghassan Hamarneh on brain image analysis. Shahab did his PhD on analyzing MRI brain images of Multiple Sclerosis at the Italian Institute of Technology, where he was advised by Professor Vittorio Murino and Doctor Diego Sona.
